Celebrating five decades with Cracker Barrel.
What happens when you find the perfect pairing? When two things come together in a way that makes you forget they could have every once been apart? That’s where the magic happens.
Our friends at FlyteVu came to us to help them promote such a pairing: Cracker Barrel and Country Music. At this point, we had no idea that for the past five decades Cracker Barrel was a leading market for physical album sales and that they were instrumental in promoting a number of the genre’s trailblazing female artists. It was soon clear to us, though, that these two went hand-in-hand and it was our job to help make sure everyone knew it.
The creative was poignant, pairing established and new female artists together for mentor sessions and live performance. We knew it was critical to cherish this spirit of unity so we brought on two creatives to do just that: Elizabeth Olmstead as director and Kelsey Cherry as photographer. After orchestrating a mass of schedules, songs, camera blocking, and honing in on this campaign’s collective voice, it was time to get to work on Five Decades, One Voice.
For essentially four days straight, we captured magic. With our teams working as one, we planned for everything, remained open to discovery, and kept our eyes and ears alert to spontaneity. Over 100 edits later, the piece spoke (or sang) for itself. Forever cementing the notion that when you put the right pieces together, like country and Cracker Barrel or a seemingly serendipitous production/agency/client combo, the collective voice becomes something greater than we could have ever imagined.
